The Work of Independent Colleges of Indiana and Our Intersection with Philanthropy in Our State
November 2, 2023
Presented by Laura Bridges
Please join us for this virtual program as we hear from Laura Bridges of Independent Colleges of Indiana. During this presentation attendees will learn more about the support ICI provides the consortium of 29 private non-profit colleges and universities in Indiana and how their work converges with the world of philanthropy and charitable giving. Anyone who works in fundraising (all levels) at private colleges and universities, alumni relations, as well as anyone involved in Community Foundations, Grant Writing and government liaisons for higher education will benefit from this presentation.
Laura Bridges joined the Independent Colleges of Indiana in 2006 and has held a variety of roles within the organization since then. Before joining ICI, Laura began her career in retail bank branch management and investments. In her work as Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, Laura leads member collaborative initiatives with the goal of helping members achieve efficiency, effectiveness and cost savings in a variety of realms. Her work at ICI began with financial management and statewide coordination of the nationally recognized Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship Program. She then began working directly with college and university leadership as Director of Finance at ICI. Among recent ICI projects, Laura is most proud of the formation of the ICI MEP – a shared retirement plan for ICI members, as well as the ICI Benefits Consortium – a health insurance Multiple Employer Welfare Arrangement (MEWA). For the ICI MEP, Laura serves as Plan Administrator and liaison between the board and service provider team. In the ICI Benefits Consortium, her role is President and Arrangement Manager. Both of these programs launched in 2020 and are redefining benefits options for ICI members.
