April 7, 2022 – Spring Cleaning: Updating Your Estate Plans and Estate Planning Ideas After The Potential 2021 Near-Disasters

We are still breathing a deep sigh of relief aren’t we. The exemption is intact, valuation discounts remain viable, grantor trusts and GRATs work, and life is good, but the 2021 near-disaster for our planning shouldn’t be forgotten. We will discuss what we can do to prepare for future Congressional action – other than worry – and the best strategies for planning right now taking into consideration the newest cases and rulings from around the estate planning universe. There are no perfect solutions or magic bullets but perhaps there are better, and worse, ways to proceed as we move forward into the second quarter of this election year.
